I have recently immersed myself in the novel-writing of John Green, and have finished reading his novel Looking for Alaska. As a premise, the novel is about a male teenage protagonist named Miles who moves schools to attend a boarding school in Alabama. During his tenure as a student there, he meets Alaska, the main female protagonist; Chip, his roommate and eventual best friend; and many other characters. They socialize and do many things together, until a sudden twist in the middle of the novel sends Miles and his friends into a search for answers, namely, a search for closure. The book was the winner of the 2006 Michael L. Printz award for the best novel in teen literature that year, and was also a New York Times bestseller in 2012.
